Didn't you read about what Mayock said about this Oline draft class? And many others have repeated , it was a very weak Oline class, I'm not going to fret over picking up an extra third to pass him up...I wanted Zay Jones at #37, but I trust McVay knows more about what he wants on this team then I do. Slater said some yesterday when asked why he thought the Rams passed on Oline, first he mentioned it wasn't a strong class and also said that with today's colleges and the spread type offenses that are being run, it's taking linemen longer to adjust and learn the pro game...he could see why the Rams want to stick with the vets on the team they have and why they spent money on an older LT.....He wasn't surprised by them passing on Oline this year.
He knows about these kids we already have on the O-line and he's not the only one who has mentioned the spread offenses have effected the skill level and the understanding incoming rookie o-linemen have of how to play o-line in the pros.
The Rams have a bunch of you guys who are now going on their 3rd year in the NFL. If Kromer likes them that is good by me. I often said it was not lack of talent but scheme and technique that was hurting the line last year.
