In a movie quote... I think it was by Matthew McConaughey in some sports movie, said something like... "We may behind on the scoreboard at the end of the game but if you've given your all we can't lose"... or something like that. No truer words were ever spoken.

"Winning is everything"... used a lot, especially on this board... but how do you do that? You do it by giving everything you have.. which may NOT be enough to win... but it's the way you get there.

If you, as an athlete, cant' realize that your effort is not related to the final numbers, score, but rather to the effort you're giving on the field... you ain't likely to ever hoist the Lombardi. - JamesJM
