They could always pay him the fifth year option and franchise him for 2019.
Basically have him for the next three years at a cost of 1.8(2017) 6.9(2018) and around 17/19 million for 2019. And they could franchise him for 2020 also. Of course they are going to sign him long term , but will they wait until next off season ?
