It was the right move to trade 6 draft picks for the #1 overall pick even if he's 2-3 years in being respectable?
Sorry, no dice.
If he takes 3 years and then is a top 10 for 10-years, then yes of course it was.
The alternative would be 3 years further down the road and having to roll the dice again and wait another 2 or 3 years.
Time will tell if they blew it.
It's a common human bias RFIP to look at past events and claim we knew they were right or wrong depending on how they turned out rather than what we thought before the event.
Do you remember having a signature claiming not only was Sammy Watkins going to be a star, but suggesting the 9ers would draft him and we'd be facing him for 15-years. How did that turn out?
BUT, if he had blown it up you'd be claiming you KNEW that. Blackmon would have been the same story. We tend to remember when we got stuff right and forget the times when we blew it.
I'm sure if Goff goes on to be a superstar you'll forget you called the organization 'insane' for drafting him.
I have no clue on Goff, so I guess I'll just wait and see
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
