Snead gets a pass? He traded a 2nd Rd pick to move up for Austin. We know how that's turned out. He picked Robinson #2 overall and we know how that has turned out. Then he traded a boat load of picks for Goff, one of which is a top 5 pick. Although the jury is still out on him, he would have to be a perennial all pro to be worth what they gave up.
Fisher had final say on every draft pick and move, don't kid yourself by thinking Snead had any power under Fisher.
But, if you're gonna point out some questionable picks, you can't just pass up the hits...Gurley and Donald were back to back RoY's and there has been some other hits along the way also...
The Goff deal ended up being a total of three picks lost(6 for 3) the hyperbole surrounding that trade is comical.
Yes Snead had some power under Fisher. Fisher depended on him as much as Carroll depends on Schneider.
I know people want to find the scapegoat, but usually doing that just distorts things.
First, by any objective measure, Rams personnel acquisitions, both FA and the draft, have been overall good. So no need to make up someone to blame for it being bad. It wasn't.
Second, you guys do know that there are other opinions of what happened besides blame Fisher, blame Snead, blame them both.
For example, my view is you will not be able to name any coach who did well who had THAT many simultaneous OL and qb issues because of injuries.
Either way, as I said, overall Rams personnel stuff has been good. That's a much longer discussion but this roster is light years ahead of the the 2011 roster the last regime inherited.
