Soloman Thomas to me is a 4-3 DE even though he played end in Stanford's 3-4. At 273 lbs, he is too heavy for a 3-4 OLB, but a tad light for an end.

I think Thomas would dominate as an end in that scheme. In a 43 I'd play him as a base end but kick inside in passing situations.
