In a traditional 4/3, if the offense doubles or triples Donald, they they have to use (counting a TE) 4 or 3 blockers on the other 3 linemen. They at least know who is coming (except in zone blitzes but you know what I mean).
It's kind of the same in a 3/4, with this difference. The offense has no idea in advance who the 4th pass rusher will be, since it could be any one of the 4 LBs. Or even two of them. So doubling Donald leaves Quinn one on one with basically no one on Ogletree. for example.
