At age 35 he was still one of the best OT's in the game and showing no signs of fading. It's really only a two year deal. Almost all the guaranteed money is gone after year one.

If he gives them two years of quality play plus brings the leadership the clubhouse has so sorely been lacking, that's a good deal. $11MM per year is a bargain for a top LOT today. The only reason they got him that cheaply is because of his age.
