Kayvon Webster leaves Broncos, signs free agent deal with the Los Angeles RamsTroy E. Renck

DENVER -- Citing an opportunity for more playing time and familiarity with Wade Phillips, Kayvon Webster signed with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night, he told Denver7.
Webster loved Denver and was so respected by teammates, he was voted a special teams captain. However, with no openings in the No Fly Zone, the defensive back took a different flight path. In Los Angeles, Webster saw a chance to play with a head start. He knows coordinator Wade Phillips' defense.
"Amen. Thankful and ready to earn it," Webster said.
Phillips identified Webster as as target in free agency. Webster played well in limited reps with the Broncos.
"(Phillips) believed in me. I can't thank him enough for the opportunity!" Webster tweeted. "Grind hard. Stay focused."
Webster boasts an interesting story. He grew up in the Liberty City area of Miami, befriending the likes of Steelers receiver Antonio Brown and Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. There were times when he was forced to live with friends. At one point, there were 17 people in his maternal grandmother Eula Lawson's house.
"I used it as motivation because I didn't want to have my family grow up just like that," Webster told The Tampa Tribune during the week of Super Bowl 50. "I wanted to do more. As I got older, I got a vision."
Webster emerged as a special teams for the Broncos the past two seasons. He excelled at punt and kick coverage, using his track star speed and fearlessness. Teammates were happy for Webster, who has long been in popular for his laid back demeanor.
"I think Kwebb can start," cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said. "This is a good fit for him."
