It's clear that the Rams intend to take advantage of this TE draft class bumper crop. Maybe as early as that #37. The Kendricks release made that abundantly clear. Seems like a smart strategy to me.

I doubt that they will draft 2, however. At least not high for a second TE. Way too many other needs. Besides, I think they like Higbee.

I seriously doubt that they will trade up for a TE. Or probably any other player, either. They need to keep their picks and let this draft come to them. We desperately need all of our picks through at least the 4th round. Maybe the 5th, too. Potential starters at certain positions that deep, reportedly.

Only my 2 cents, and what do I know, anyway?

I wasn't clear in my previous post. I meant to say they have one or two specific TE`s targeted high and will go after one of them. Now that doesn't mean they couldn't draft another one late (rounds 5-7). Late round picks are just that.

I`m also happy they finally got rid of Kendricks. He was a JAG and a guy that was here for the past two regimes. Time to move on!

If they have a target and he`s close to within reach, don't be surprised if they move up for him. We know how much McVay prioritizes the TE position. The Skins were not the same tam when Jordan Reed was out of the lineup. If he can get an impact guy like Reed in this draft, he will move up if he has to. We know Snead isn't afraid to wheel and deal and also played the position some. They are heavily targeting a top TE or two in this draft.

Well, it's a rare thing when I challenge you on draft matters, Paul.

But this is more of a strategy issue than a player eval issue. On evals, I always defer to you.

I just don't see them trading up in this draft. They lack a 1st, already, and there are SO many holes now. Especially after that Thurs night blood bath where we lost 3 more starters.

Since this is a deep draft, including at many of our need positions, I really believe that they will let the draft come to them. Even if they pick up a 2nd or a 3rd via the TruJo trade, that just means they take a CB.

We agree that McVay loves his TE's, but I think we can also agree that he is adept at developing them, too.

I foresee a BPA at positions of need through at least the 5th round draft strategy. Fortunately, this draft class will match up beautifully with our needs.

Remaining predraft FA moves might clarify things a bit, of course.
