I don't think the Rams are hell bent to get rid of him, otherwise they wouldn't have risked tagging him. Doing that means you have to accept paying the guy that amount for the one year period and I think the Rams are ok with that. Not ideal, but they must have discussed that.
Snead was on Sirius, forget when I heard him, but he mentioned that Tru was seeking that top average and that the Rams "were probably a little below that" paraphrasing here of course.
Re: compensation, what they're going to be looking for is something better than 3rd round. IF some team can get a basic agreement on contract value with Tru, then I think it's possible they could get a round 2 pick in this draft for him. But yeah there's a lot of moving pieces for all that to happen and I expect him to play this year with the Rams under the tag for that reason.
