I still think there is something to my theory though. It really is a testament to how good a HC Saban is. Not a dis on the players.
For most All-Pro/HOFer = hit.
Anything short of all-pro/HOFer = miss
For me there is a TON of hit in between All-Pro and bust.
Finding a player is the goal, anything above that is a bonus.
I put almost no stock in the Alabama player theory, players fail for a ton of reasons...Saban being a great coach isn't one of them.
