They are trying to feed it out slowly to make the most of the dollars IMO. Remember teams keep ALL of the money from gear sold in their pro shops so this is just an attempt to milk it a bit.
Everyone will rush out and buy new stuff bit by bit.
The Rams are pretty bad at this, I don't know who is ultimately in charge of this type of thing but they are screwy as far as I'm concerned.
