If Johnson is tagged he makes $30.7M over two years and then is off the books for 2018.

Jenkins deal pays him $23M over two years with $6M still guaranteed beyond that and a 2018 base salary of $10.9M. He in essence gets paid $36M by the Giants over 3 years (plus $4M still guaranteed).

So which contract is better? I actually don't mind overpaying for shorter term deals.

Thing is either way the Rams better draft a CB high in this Draft- and they're well positioned to do so. If Johnson plays under the franchise tag he, Joyner and Gaines are all UFA in 2018.
