The problem with these kinds of signings is you never know when the player all of a sudden is too slow to play any more.
Saw it with Bruce at a later year, but Holt went early because of knee issues. Williams also disappeared after some health issues quickly.
I think it is more likely for line players to be able to play longer in the league than skilled position players. These skilled position players - once they start slowing down, it is hard to compete even if they are highly fundamentally skilled and smart players.
