The main thing is that this gives Goff a reset for a nightmare. And it does it in a positive way.
It's the old "if you fall off the horse, get right back on" bit. He doesn't have to just sit around waiting for the off season program to start.
It's good for his head and his confidence, even if it doesn't actually do anything important for his game.
Besides, at worst it's like chicken soup; it might not help, but it can't hurt.
