Yes, you have to wonder as to why a team would release such a player. The cap space they save is 5.5 million which is not
gigantic by today's standards. You have to wonder if there is a bigger free agent the Colts are trying to make room for. I don't know the Colts cap situation so not sure if they are hurting for cap space.
5 million dollars for the season. That doesn't seem like a huge number for the Rams to take on and perhaps they can lower his salary.
