Yep. Good for him. I think the Rams gave up on him too soon, and Amendola too. Amendola has the great hands the Rams lack, etc. And Long was a great locker-room presence which is also something they lack now.

IMO, if you really want to go in another direction, trade the vet. Don't just let him walk. But when players have major "intangibles" like Long, and your team is deficient in that department . . . . best to hold on a bit longer.
