they may have sold 83,000+ tickets but that wasn't the attendance.
And on top of that, the attendance looked to be 43,000 by half time.
This isn't to insult. It's a fact of life. If the Rams continue to lose, there will be empty seats and that lofty second place standing in ticket sales will go by the way of the surf board.
Kroenke has two things going for him.
1. The new-ness of the Rams being back provides a bump in sales
2. The new stadium will provide a bump in sales.
That will carry him until, say....2021. After that, if this team continues it's losing ways, the criticism will come nationwide..and the empty seats will appear permanently.
There is one more thing going for Kroenke...the number of transplants in So. Cal. will bring in a large number of opposing team's fans.
