Wade Phillips has been running a 3-4 for more than a decade, the Rams have real talent on the defensive side of the ball but it is NOT 3-4 talent. I don't want to lose that talent like we lost Kevin Greene. People say in Mc30's favor is he will bring in Wade Phillips with him but I see that as more of a minus than a plus. You don't bring in Bill Walsh to run a team built to run a Coryell team and you don't bring in Mike Martz to run a west coast offense. Rams have some serious desirable talent on defense (sadly the same can't be said on the offense) and bringing in a coach whose name has been made running a defense that is completely different from the talent we have on the roster.
