He coached LBs at Ohio State and was apparently did well enough to be hired by the Texans in the same capacity. So, it appears that Vrabel is doing well away from New England. In fact, Vrabel never coached under Belichick, so it is a pretty big stretch to include him in the Belichick coaching tree.
But did he get his job because of the Patriots connection to Bill O'Brien? I'd take his hiring more seriously if just about anyone else hired him.
