Back in 2012 when the Rams brass was searching for a new HC and a new GM, here's what they said they were looking for at that time. This is from a Jan 2, 2012 article "St. Louis Rams COO Kevin Demoff Denies Peter King Report About Jeff Fisher" in SBNation:
Leadership and accountability will be a key part of the Rams next hires. Demoff described the need for an "adaptable and smart" football mind for the head coaching position. As far as what the Rams are seeking in a general manager, Demoff noted a preference for someone with a strong background in personnel and consensus building, someone to bring together the vision of the coaching staff and the assessments of the scouting department.
"We're serious about getting this right and we're serious about building winning tradition in St. Louis," concluded Demoff.Sound familiar? Did Fisher fit those requirements at the time of the hire and somehow lost them in the ensuing 5 years? Or did he not have those requirements but managed to convince Kroenke and Demoff that he did?
