The reason Patterson is not an NFL WR is because of Patterson. kid has a ton of lazy in him, and that's too bad. Admitted he didn't care about grades his freshman and sophomore years of HS resulting in him being academically ineligible for college. He also took a couple years off from HS football, because :"I played football growing up, but when I got to high school, my love of the game was gone," Patterson said. "I needed a break. My junior year I was ready to get back out there and now here I am; it's crazy."
I know you love the kid, that's fine, but he is not intelligent (neither is Austin) and his lazy streak would keep me from paying him anything other then an incentive laden show me deal.
A guy needing to grow mature and learn what it means to be a pro.
I don't put much stock in that because I have also seen his workouts and working with route running coaches here in Orange Cty.
He's 25 yrs old and came in at 21 so he had some maturing to do.
He may get it he may not, IF he doesn't it would be a shame because his skills at his size are very rare.
