How would you rate every rookie as we get near to the end of the season?
Impossible to say. Too soon.
First, context. As a rule, 4th and 6th round picks rarely if ever make it. The Rams for example have never in their history had 2 4th round picks in the same year who both made it. I once did the percentage on Rams individual 4th round picks for their whole history and I forget what the percentage of hits is across time, but I do know it's very low---below 10%. 6th round is worse.
So they are disadvantaged rookies who would normally never make it and as a rule, given where they were picked, and are not going to show much in their first years. Higbee, for example, looks to me like the poster boy for the lost rookie.
So my view is 2 things. First, it;s way too soon to evaluate them---they're all just so lost (except maybe Forrest).
I would also say that if 2 of the 5 make it, that's about as good as you can do with 4th/6th round drafting.
If more than 2 make it, then, that's just plain exceptional by ordinary league draft standards for low picks.
