Police responded to a suburban Atlanta convenience store early Wednesday morning after a clerk alleged former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson exposed himself inside the establishment, USA TODAY Sports confirmed.
A clerk at a QuikTrip in Suwanee, Ga., called 911 at about 2 a.m. Wednesday to report a man exposed himself and then began masturbating inside the store, Suwanee police Captain Shane Edmisten said. Police identified the man as Anderson, who Edmisten described as being intoxicated. Anderson was not arrested since the clerk did not want to pursue charges.
Edmisten said Anderson was cooperative and officers issued a trespassing warning, meaning if Anderson returned to the QuikTrip he would be arrested.
“There was nothing out of the ordinary, outside of him masturbating in the store,” Edmisten said.TMZ was the first outlet to report incident.
nderson, 44, played eight seasons in the NFL, all with the Falcons. 1. Since stepping away from the game after the 2001 season, Anderson has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement.
Anderson served five days in jail earlier this year after pleading guilty to driving under the influence, a charge that stemmed from a traffic stop in September 2015. He also was arrested in August for driving with a suspended license. In 2009, Anderson was arrested on drug possession charges.
Anderson was one of the thousands of former NFL players to sue the league of its handling of concussions.
