I never got the running up the score issue

December 18, 2016 10:43AM
Then again in soccer, after your record, the thing that is taken into consideration next as a tie-breaker, is goal difference.

IOW, how many goals you have scored versus how many you have conceded.

It means teams do not take their foot off the throat of the opposition no matter what the score. That one goal may be the difference between success and failure - and often is.

Bleating about your opponent running up the score is like saying, 'we suck and they're good and life isn't fair'

Get over it!

Time to have a rule change so that the overall points difference matters. In one fell swoop you stop teams rolling over and expecting their opposition to have mercy because they suck.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
