We know Keenum will be an average backup at best. There is more upside in keeping an unknown that gets a good NFL game.

Although, if some team was crazy enough to offer a high draft pick, I may change my mind. I think Mitchell from the Dolphins many years ago had a few good games and signed some huge contract, so it can happen.

He's an unrestricted free agent after the season.

They have to sign him if they want to keep him. If not he just walks.
