Mistakes indicate poor effort

You can't just say they played hard but missed assignments, took bad untimely penalites, dropped passes, etc. That's not playing hard. Part of playing hard is mental focus and emotional discipline and they had neither. Running 100 miles an hour in the wrong direction doesn't qualify as effort.
