... we allow the kid to get some REAL coaching ... you've always been No. 1 on the Fisher Blows bandwagon, right?
How about the Rams surround him with some real, NFL quality receivers.
How about the Rams protect him by piecing together an offensive line that is NFL quality.
If, at that point, he is still "inaccurate," then I'll be right there with you.
However ... as I said elsewhere today ... a big, big part of this kid's "problem" with accuracy is this feeling he CLEARLY has that he has to be perfect with every throw. Because ... hey ... there's probably a pretty good chance those guys running around out there are gonna get a case of the dropsies, anyway.
He's trying to be too perfect ... because he feels anything short of that is gonna end up in disaster.
Great quarterbacks, as you might know, are often ... lol ... blessed with great receivers.
When Terry Bradshaw was winging it in his prime ... you suppose he felt pretty confident Stallworth and Swann were gonna clean up any mistakes he made?
When Dan Fouts was in his prime ... Winslow, Joiner, Jefferson, Chandler.
Montana! Hey ...
the sainted Joe Montana! He was he throwing to all those years? Did Jerry Rice make corrections on 50/50 balls? How about Taylor? How about Rathman and Craig out of the backfield?
Touchdown Tommy Brady? Other than Moss those few years, the Pats have never had great outside receivers, granted. Serviceable. But ... Brady has also been playing with the guy a lot of folks believe will go down as the most dangerous pass-catching tight-end in NFL history.
There's a yin and a yang at work here.
Give Goff somebody to throw to that he can RELY on ... and I believe the short-arming disappears. The aiming. Because, when he just grips it and rips it ... he's a different quarterback.
