18) Barron's contract if we change defenses.
19) Quinn's contract..
Thanks, good post. I say it's always better to greet adversity with irony than despair. (Ironically.)
On Barron. It is possible that if there's no GW then there will be no Barron at LB. Cutting him means a 9 M cap hit in 2017, but also 2 M in savings over just keeping him. Btw I am fine with taking a hit, if the any new DC wants a different set-up at LB---they have the cap space and sometimes you swallow something like that if you are going to change things up in year 1. If they keep him for a year, it means 7 M cap savings in 2018. If they cut him in 2017, they take the 9 M 2017 cap hit but then save 10 M in 2018.
On Quinn. I never blame a player for being injured. Quinn has the skill and the heart, he just got banged up. In terms of the cap, he's not that expensive given what he was when they signed him (a premier DE). Cutting him in 2017 (which I imagine is not likely) means a 5 M cap savings.
I see them drafting up to 2 DEs in this DE rich draft, and if Quinn continues to be less than he was, he stays as part of a rotation. That's my guess-ulation.
