Being a long time fan from Jacksonville, I have no dogs in the whole L.A. / St Louis debate. But I have to say, Demoff and Stan REALLY lead on and totally B.S.ed with the people of St Louis. I cannot speak for the fans in St Louis but I bet there would've been a helluva lot more respect for "Management" in the Midwest had they just been up front a LOT sooner. A lot of people wasted a LOT of time and money to put together and propose options in St Louis, all the while, St Louis NEVER stood a snowball's chance in hell to keep the Rams. The sweatin the fans did is a WHOLE other story.
Yeah, I KNOW the people of L.A. were totally screwed in 1994.. I remember it well. But that does not make how St Louis was treated ok.
Again, coming from a fan in Florida......The way it was handled will always leave a cloud over Stan and Demoff, in MY book
Agree wholeheartedly Ramgator. Had there been any semblance of honesty in that whole situation, and they simply said what they were going to do and why, it wouldn't have been any easier, but they may have held on to a few fans.
Near the end when it was plain the team was leaving Bornstein really laid down the smack on StL. Made it clear we just weren't good enough to be Rams fans.
IMO there was no need for an apology, if a person is not telling the truth, and they're getting paid to do it, then by default that person is a professional.
