I sort of got fired once from my office job. Seems I misfiled some contracts, like every week for an entire year. They hung a big banner on my desk that said "~LYSER SUCKS!". My coworkers were wearing "FIRE LYSER!" T-shirts to my sales meetings. They called me "lice bag" and everyone in the lunch room stood up and booed me when I walked in. Message boards across the twitterverse were full of hateful and personal comments about me.
Thing was, I had an employment contract I had worked out with the boss before everything went to hell. So, the higher ups told me I didn't have to come into work anymore, but they still paid me every penny I was due on that contract. It was kind of a relief to just get the heck outta there at that point. Plus, due to the employment contract, I was able to retire to a life of hookers and drugs. It has all worked out for the best, though I am now immune to both heroin and penicillin.
