It has terrorized Fisher from day one, so he knew it was a problem and was willing to go into this season with enormous amounts of youth, to include his prized 2nd overall LT who had struggled so greatly to that point, and the injury-prone veteran in Saffold.
Even worse, they knew they were moving up for QB, but decided they had enough with the second year starters and depth along with Gurley to help the kid out.
Here's an example of a similar team, the Titans, and how they addressed their OL and offensive situation for their young signal caller:
1. Brought in Russ Grimm to coach the line. I know some still believe in Boudreau, but IMO he's not anywhere near guys like Callahan (Skins), Munchak (Steelers), and Grimm.
2. Drafted RB Henry and brought in RB Murray in FA.
3. Drafted OT Conklin and brought in C Jones in FA.
This season their passing game isn't fully developed (20th overall in yards), but they have a power rushing game ranked 3 overall in the NFL and a young QB who is well protected (T-6th sacks allowed).
In hindsight the Rams should have brought in a little more help for the OL in FA.
