1st down is the worst time to run the ball. imo

It's when it's most obvious to a defense.
I'd PA pass 70%/time on 1st down.
Run the ball on 2nd down...
Pass or run on 3rd depending on the distance.

Ina game where most NFL team talent is near equal....deception can be the difference.
(ie Like faking a punt from yer own 15yd line...which works for us most of the time...
cept when they were expecting it cuz we were running out of time.)
