Rams go nowhere on offense, fall to Panthers 13-10By RICH HAMMOND / STAFF WRITER
LOS ANGELES – With total sincerity, Rams coach Jeff Fisher stood before reporters this week and said he felt good about the Rams’ offense going into this week’s game.
The Rams didn’t exactly back up Fisher’s assertion, which seemed questionable as soon as it was uttered. The Rams’ offense, average at best for most of this season, might have hit a low point Sunday in a 13-10 loss to Carolina at the Coliseum.
The Rams’ only touchdown came on their final drive of the game, with Case Keenum hitting Kenny Britt for a 10-yard score on fourth and goal with 34 seconds left.
The Rams lost their fourth consecutive game and, before the game reached halftime, fans loudly chanted for rookie Jared Goff to replace Keenum at quarterback. Keenum was ineffective for a second consecutive game and completed 27 of 46 attempts for 296 yards and one interception.
Goff, the No. 1 pick in the April draft who has yet to get on the field, stayed on the sideline as the Rams didn’t reach the Carolina red zone until 10 minutes remained in the fourth quarter.
