They ignore how bad the Rams actually are.

Statistically the Rams stink. The offense is at the bottom of the league, the Defense is terrible on 3rd downs and the entire team stinks when it comes to penalties in critical situations, and the coaching and game management is awful.

This is not a playoff team. The can win a game against a good opponent every now and then, but that's about it. If they don't play Goff this year then the only good thing that came out of this season is the move to LA, unless you're from STL, then its a total waste.
