I met him back when he was recruiting one of my sons to USD. Followed him since as he was up here in the Bay Area coaching Stanford and then the 49ers. I know people who know him.

He went to high school in Ann Arbor (and CA), played college football for Michigan and the Bears in the pros. Michigan was trying to get him for YEARS. His wife is tired of moving and she is expecting their 4th child. He's got plenty of money, he's King of the World at his alma mater and has all the power and control he wants. He can burn pro players out but the college kids roll through in 4 years and there's a fresh crop.

You and 35 million fans of other college and pro teams all think their teams have a shot at him. Not a chance.
