The coverage didn't dictate it and post snap the CB was bailing. He actually should have thrown the route Quick actually ran, especially if it was hot because he read blitz, if he was going to Quick.
that is how I see it too.
Even if it was miscommunication or Quick did not get the audible right the QB has to see that the WR is running the wrong route.
Should have gone where Quick was and not where he assumed him to be . BTW , Quick was wide open on that play and probably scores, at least gets the first down.
I know CK was under a pretty heavy rush but he had to see what was going on with Quick and his route.
At worst throw the damn thing away and go to 4th down.
