Jim Everett...My ALL TIME favorite Ram QB!! I was on duty at the Fire Station while in the USAF the day Everett made his first appearance. We had about 14-16 guys who were BIG football fans. They were ALL in the Day Room watching that Rams Pats game. After Everett came in and led a big comeback, I was talking MEGA MEGA trash! When Eason threw the Hail Mary at the end, you could hear a pin drop as the ball sailed into a bunch of bodies. All I recall is seeing the Refs signal T.D. and hearing an EXPLOSION from 15 guys bringing a MAJOR wrath on me. I was SICK!! And the buzz in the room lasted for HOURS!! That was my first year in the USAF (1986) It became a topic of discussion for the rest of my years there......and even after I left the USAF. As sick as I was that day, 30 years later, it brings a big smile to my face.
And OOOOOHHHHH... Two weeks before I discharged, I was ON DUTY when Flipper took it to the tunnel in the 89 Playoffs. I heard CRICKETS from the guys! They just laughed and said "NAH! The Pats game was better!" with laughs.
