What if the XP gets blocked and the Bucs return it for 2 pts? That happened in week 1 in the Baltimore game.
Then the Rams are up only 9 pts.
So just maybe Fisher didn't want to take any chances at all with the ball and QB sneaked it. Notice that he didn't risk passing it.
I'm sure all you older Rams fans remember the FG attempt against the Vikings in 1974 playoff game that got blocked and returned and cost us a trip to the SB.
Anyway, that's the only technical way not attempting the XP makes any sense whatsoever.
I'll be curious to hear Fisher's take on it.
