But times change.
Fisher has painted himself in a box with his approach now. He is watching other rookie QBs that were drafted below Goff perform well.
That didn't happen with McNair. McNair only threw 80 passes his rookie year while Kerry Collins threw over 400 but he was pretty bad. And neither team traded up for those QBs.
Now Fisher has set himself up for a nightmare scenario.
If Keenum continues to not produce does Fisher start Mannion over Goff?
Fisher would get crucified in the media.
And if he starts Goff and Goff stinks it up, that may be even worse, especially if Wentz and Prescott and maybe another rookie QB look a lot better.
Fisher is praying that Keenum gets some wins over the next 3 games, cause his and Sneads neck is on the line with Goff.
