There's one thing that I've heard from posters that observed the games from the stands and from those watching the All 22.
They've both consistently commented that Keenum is not seeing open receivers downfield. I mean, either he doesn't see them, or he doesn't think he can get the ball to them. Or maybe both.
Goff, despite his inexperience, could probably take better advantage of those open downfield receivers, don't you think?
How much worse than 4.5 points per game could he be, really?
Not a terribly high bar to pass, huh?
Well can Goff contribute to an offense that gets 19.25 points game (offense only)?
Because that's the bar. A fairly low one but still.
That's what they were getting with Keenum in the last 4 games last year.
See, if you assess a player, you have to include all recent games, and the last 4 last year count.
Otherwise, you end up in this dead alley where you aren't really talking about the player's real work.
Just the last 2 games you either liked or didn't like, neither of which, I submit, is real analysis.
Anyway, whether Goff can hit those passes? We know he can. Whether he can SEE yet that they're there? That's a different question.
