Look, the Rams traded for Barron and already had AO on the roster. They couldn't get both on the field at the same time for the amount of snaps they wanted, so the only answer was to dump a declining JL and move a ever growing AO to the middle. Problem is (in my mind) that AO is a flow and hit LBer. Or run and hit. He is not a take on and shed LBer. Well guess what? In the middle you have to shed. You also have a lot more responsibility.
Against the 9ers, he was tied up and a had a hard time figuring out where the play was going, against the Hawks, the Rams DL kept him clean and he was very good. He's a superb athlete, but he needs to either learn how to shed blocks or he needs a DL that keeps him clean.
