Question 1.....Why would you take a guy who is #3 on the depth chart and elevate him by way of their practice sessions?......he will IMO be elevated for the sole reason of it being the 1st game in LA and your #1 guy must be at least made a possible factor to be seen.
I just don't understand how you can really look at this guy and say it would not matter if he plays because everyone in front of him can't do the job. My point being some say well if Mannion was good enough he would have had his chance. Well to that I look at Fisher and his supreme ability so far to know a QB's ability....based on that I still say it's a viable question whether Mannion can play this game or not.......because he doesn't play proves nothing IMO with Fisher in charge.
Question 2......why would you subject a #1 pick into what looks like the same situation Sam was put into.....I still see a questionable scheme....questionable targets to throw to.....and still a questionable O-Line.....I would not do it by those looks (mind you maybe my opinions)......
If he goes in and blows it up great....I have egg all over my face....and I will be happy to admit it....but if it happens the way I fear it might.....we are set back many more years......Mannion IMO knows the system better by way of his extra year in it......
Actually I'd like to see Case come out and do much better.....but of course for that to happen so does everyone else......(coaches included)
