Re: Agree, hard to believe

Not only a USC mafia but also a Dorsey mafia. When Johnson was going to Dorsey and even as far back as when I played there so many of the inner city kids that were good somehow all ended up at USC. We were like a farm team for the Trojans. I once researched how many of the alumni that played ball there actually went to USC and onto the NFL. And there were so many they left out including some Rams like Aaron Cox -not on the list. And their baseball talent was unmatched. One reason I played little was because the all city qb I was behind ended up at USC and Rod Deadaux the famous baseball coach took him and he ended up in the World Series with Baltimore against Koufax and the Dodgers.

Then along came the Catholic schools who had no boundary issues like the public schools and could generate private funding for coaches salaries, etc. So goodbye to the power of the inner city schools. Anyway, that's beyond the point of the thread.
