I know he's a whipping boy right now, but think how many times in the past a lineman comes to fans's attention in a bad way, but the coaches see something with him, stick with it, and turn out to be right.

They may not see a talentless screw up, they may see a development project.

I can't count how many times when Barnes became the starter at first that fans brought up the fact that Mebane beat him up at the end of 2013.

And here he is, now looking better than ever. And the Rams beat Seattle twice last year with Barnes at center.
