John Cena threw some serious shade at the Rams during the ESPYs

There’s funny, and then there’s just cruel. The host of the 2016 ESPYs, John Cena, decided to throw some shade at the Los Angeles Rams early on during the awards show, which undoubtedly drew a few laughs from the many people in attendance (with the exception of Rams players, you’d have to assume).

According to NFL reporter Ron Clements, Cena stated the following:

Brutal. But, fortunately, the team’s official Twitter account was there to make sure the world knew how Cena really felt about the Rams, and more specifically, head coach Jeff Fisher.

We all know you respect the mustache, John, and we’re also willing to bet that you’ll probably be at a few Rams games this coming season.

While the Rams aren’t nominated for any awards this time around at the ESPYs, many athletes at the event are talking about the team’s return to Los Angeles still.

“I think the Rams returning will be good for the league,” Denver Broncos’ Chris Harris told Variety staff writer Lamarco McClendon. “I think the people out here have been starving for a team and I can’t wait to come back here to play.”

It’s hard to disagree with Harris, and here’s to hoping that the excitement stays this high for many, many years to come.
