Among the many things I don't understand about the NFL...
You never see China moving its basketball/whatever games here. Soccer games from European teams moved here are "friendlies," which I take to mean merely exhibition matches, and here in STL at least they are wildly popular, sellouts to be sure.
If the NFL believes it's so globally-popular, it ought to farm these Far East/Mexico/Europe events to the pre-season. They're sure to draw decent crowds, are they not, because after all it's the NFL. The NFL ought to believe enough in its product that it's going to preserve "the best" quality football for the 99.999 percent of its season-ticket-buying patrons (and players)... who are here in the USA.
Now that I think of it, the NFL already holds an exhibition game outside the contiguous 48 States... It's called the Pro Bowl, in Honolulu.
