Buyers or sellers?

Surprisingly we are overachieving this year, and has been enjoyable to build on.

But is it possible instead of getting a player before the deadline we should be in the selling market?

I'm not saying we should, but what if, going into the season, we were planning to unload some more salary.

And has our mediocre success changed that? If we lose to the cowboys, does the picture change ?

All of this being said, it makes me ask this question:

Would it make sense to trade Aaron Donald and his salary for a couple high picks. 1st and a future 2nd? 2 2nd's? Something like that.

To a team that is making a run? Maybe our friends in Detroit?

Or any of the 5-2, 6-1 teams?

From his perspective, does he want to retire, but perhaps would play a couple more years if he could play for a contender?

I am not much asking if you think this is a good idea or not, but more to entertain how this could be a move they might want to make, if we don't think we are going to win the SB this year.
