I consider our fellow Herd board member
JimYoungblood53 as one of the best (Defensive) gurus when it involves breaking down film, NFL defenses and our Rams defensive scheme/fits and overall knowledge about how the Rams vision their defensive (chess pieces) in 2022.
I also consider
AlbaNY_Ram as our best salary cap guru on the Herd board.
When it comes to the NFL Draft, I consider
Deadpool,
alyoshamucci and a couple of others as draft gurus on the Herd board.
I realize the Rams defensive personnel (final 53 man roster) have a ways to go and there are holes that need some patching before the start of the 2022 regular NFL season.
My question to JimYoungblood53, is how much passed his prime is Wagner at 31 years old? turns 32 in June. (Born Jun 27, 1990)
JimYoungblood53 is on record saying Wagner is still a good ILB but nothing special anymore.
JY53 has made it clear that total tackles are one of the most overrated stats in the NFL when it comes LB's as well as other defensive positions.
No argument by me on that perception.
My question to JY53, do you think the Rams defensive staff members watched the same Wagner all 22 film over the last 2 seasons and ignored his flaws/inflated tackle stats and made a wreck-less gamble signing him?
How does he fit in the Raheem Morris 2022 defense.
Even with his regression over the last few seasons, was this a risk vs reward signing?
I'm curious what JY53's best case, worst case and realistic projections are predicting Wagner's 2022 contributions as a Ram?
